With a view to address the existing and potential ramifications of the COVID Pandemic, the CCO initiated the COMCEC COVID RESPONSE (CCR) for the benefit of member country public institutions in 2020.
The CCR is a program designed for alleviating the negative impacts of the pandemic on member country economies. Under the Program, the CCO has financed certain types of projects, which would focus on needs assessment, sharing expertise, providing direct grants to final beneficiaries.
CCO called for project proposals under CCR in 2020 and 2021 and the government institutions registered to COMCEC Working Groups submitted project proposals within the framework of the CCR. Within the 1st Call, 8 projects were implemented in 2021 and under the 2nd Call, 6 projects were implemented in 2022 to alleviate the negative impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on OIC Member Countries’ economies.
During the implementation period of the program, the CCR focused on six sectors, namely Agriculture, Finance, Poverty Alleviation, Tourism, Trade and Transport and Communications.
CCR has been finalized as of the beginning of 2023.
