Within the framework of the project titled “Increasing the Capacity of Vocational Education Centres for the Disabled in the Selected OIC Countries” being implemented by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing of Suriname, a training program was conducted between 5-8 August, 2019 in Suriname with the participation of the representatives from the relevant ministries of the partner countries, Guyana and Turkey. The training aimed at increasing the knowledge and skills of nurses and social service experts to develop curriculum in homecare. The general framework of the training consisted of the topics such as preparation of observation and care plans, establishing effective communication and interaction with the clients, idetifying the perception of the clients and the need for ethical principles and clients’ rights for the children, disabled and elderly.
