Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (ICCIA) has organized an Online Workshop on Digital Transformation for the Chambers of Commerce, for enhancing trade facilitation within the framework of COMCEC Project Funding on 9-10 November 2021.

The Workshop was attended by 75 participants from 28 countries, represented by the Unions of Chambers of Commerce from the Arab, Africa, Europe, Central Asia and South Asia regions. The participants were from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Brunei, Chad, Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, Gambia, Guinea, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Turkey and Togo. In addition, the representatives of the COMCEC Coordination Office, ICDT, UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) and UN Technology Bank were also participated.

The objectives of the Workshop were creating a vision among the OIC Member Chambers to set a digital transformation strategy and establishing a digital transformation roadmap to guide the Chambers in contributing to private sector development.

The workshop was attended by the top management of the Chambers, who are responsible for creating strategies for the Chambers of Commerce. The workshop focused on the business and strategy aspects of digital transformation and prepared a roadmap for Chambers of Commerce in this regard.
